PORT ST. JOE, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A number of sea turtles are now swimming free once again after being rescued earlier this year.
According to Gulf World Marine Institute, green sea turtles were released back into the Gulf of Mexico Thursday morning in Port St. Joe.
Paddy the sea turtle was released after a previous release was unsuccessful.
Rocket was released after being found in March covered in barnacles and malnourished.
And four more turtles were released after washing up in January suffering from shock caused by low water temperatures.
The turtles are all now in good health and back in the Gulf.
