PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Redfish, Snapper, Grouper, Hogfish and Lionfish better watch out for spears along with hooks.

Panama City Diving on Thomas Drive is hosting the 7th Annual Spearfishing Rodeo.

About 30 divers from as far away as Atlanta are taking part in the event.

The final weigh in party will be Sunday, June 5th, starting at noon.

Along with the winners being announced there will be food, drinks, and games like a dunk tank.

Patrick Green, the owner Panama City Diving explained, "This is really exciting, we got a good break in the weather, flat seas. We got a good turnout. From the first couple of fish I've seen come in they're looking pretty solid."

Friday, was the first day of the competition, so far the biggest catch brought in was a Redfish that weighed in at just under 30 pounds.
