Southport woman arrested for Friday morning stabbing

SOUTHPORT, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A Southport woman has been arrested in connection with a stabbing Friday morning.

The Bay County Sheriff's Office says they received a 911 call around 2:30 a.m. Friday from the victim saying he feared for his life. He told them Jackie Carroll, 60, was threatening him with a butcher knife.

Deputies say they got to the home on Mary Anne Drive in Southport in minutes. They say where they got there, Carroll walked out to meet them, surrendering, and admitting to the crime. The victim reportedly came out behind her, bleed from the abdomen. He was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition.

Carroll was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
