Springfield Police Chief put on administrative leave during internal investigation

SPRINGFIELD, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Springfield Mayor Ralph Hammond said Police Chief Philip Thorne is on paid administrative leave while the city conducts an internal investigation.

Mayor Hammond says it's nothing criminal, but Chief Thorne has some allegations against him.

Very few details are being released, and Mayor Hammond said at this time he's not sure whether the complaints are legitimate.

Mayor Hammond said Chief Thorne will remain on administrative leave until the investigation ends.
