BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Rising water levels impacted transportation in Bay County Monday following Sunday's heavy rainfall.
The State Road 20 bridge crossing over the Econfina Creek closed Monday due to high water concerns.
Florida Highway Patrol and Florida Department of Transportation officials were in the area Monday afternoon closing off the road and creating detours.
"Oh, we're monitoring all the bridges here locally. This is the first bridge we're having to shut down as of this time," Lieutenant Eddie Elmore, Public Information Officer for FHP, said.
It is not known at this time when the bridge will be back open.
