PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A social media threat of violence against one person at Mosley High School has led to the arrest of 15-year-old Abel Ortiz.
The Bay County Sheriff's Office says they received complaints and questions about a threat on social media. BCSO Criminal Investigations discovered that one person was using two Instagram accounts to threaten another person with violence.
Authorities believe Ortiz was responsible for the threats on both Instagram accounts. Panama City Police assisted BCSO in locating Oriz in Panama City. He was arrested Friday morning and charged with Intimidation-Written Threat to Kill or Injure, which is a second degree felony.
As a precaution, extra deputies have been on campus of Mosley High School all day Friday.
