LYNN HAVEN, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - After recovering for a couple months, a Lynn Haven teen finally returned home Wednesday after a close brush with mother nature.
Neighbors put up welcome home signs throughout the Mowat Highlands community for 16-year-old Joseph Thompson.
Friends said he spent nearly two months in an Atlanta rehabilitation center.
He was struck by lightning June 11 while mowing the lawn at his home.
"One of the neighbors proposed the idea we make welcome home signs and so we've got them lining the entrance to the neighborhood and down the road to their home," Neighbor Jennifer Wit said. "We've all missed him and the family. They're a vital part of our community here."
Friends and neighbors said he's expected to start his junior year of high school next week.
