The Golden Apple Goes to Christi Priemer

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG) - This week's Golden Apple winner works to instill a life-long love of learning at the very beginning of education. Congratulations to Christi Priemer, a Pre-k teacher at Cedar Grove Elementary School.

For most of her students, Priemer is their very first teacher.

"We have a fun classroom," said Priemer. "We have lots of fun so that the learning is fun. They have a lot of years ahead of them."

All of Priemer's students have autism or related disabilities.

She says a lot of class is focused on, "getting them into the routines of coming to school and following the directions and sitting in their chairs. They have all that done then they can learn."

With their entire education ahead of them, the importance of Priemer's dedication to instilling a love of learning in her students can't be underestimated.

"You want them to have a love for learning for years to come," said Priemer. "So we make it fun for them so they want to keep coming back.
