PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - This week's Golden Apple winner shows how a little extra time and a lot of extra love can make the classroom, and the world, a better place. Congratulations to Susan Lincoln at Breakfast Point Academy.
"The students are the best part," said Lincoln. "Having them come to me and confide in me or having them ace a question on a test is the best thing I could ever ask for."
Lincoln teaches 6th, 7th, and 8th grade ESE classes. She has had an undeniable impact on the lives of her students.
"I would describe Ms. Lincoln in, like, kindness," said one student, Janey. "She's treated everybody the way that they want to be treated."
Cody, another student, says Lincoln keeps him focused on his future, "Since I've met Ms. Lincoln I've been inspired to work and have a great career one day."
"She's the best teacher we have in the world and we all love her," explained another student, Sabain.
Lincoln's impact often goes far beyond just reading, writing, and arithmetic.
"She gives the best advice in the whole entire world," said Makayla. "I lost my mom last year and she helped me through a lot and gave me advice and stuff and she's just the greatest teacher that you could ever have."
"If I could make a difference in one child's life," said Lincoln, "every one of us at a certain time in our life needs a little extra help, and so that's what I do I make a difference in one child every day."
