BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning? For Jennifer Christo, it's her third graders.

"I have a very sweet class this year," said Christo while smiling. "I wake up everyday and come here for them. They are the reason I do what I do."

For the past five years Christo, a Panama City native, has worked her dream job, guiding students through a pivotal point in their education.

"Research shows this is the age they start to develop who they're really going to be in the future," explained Christo. "I try to stress to them it's important to work hard and not give up and think positive."

Christo has high expectations for her students and works everyday to help them be the best they can be.

"She's a good teacher because if someone is struggling on something she'll help them out," said Jadon, a third grade student.

"She's nice and if you're having a herd time on something she'll help you," said Sarah, another student.

Christo says the lessons she works to instill in her students, will help them succeed not just in third grade, but in life.

"You're always going to have challenges in life but as long as you don't give up you know that's all that matters," said Christo. "It's not how you start it's how you finish."
