Town of Caryville offers resting area for Irma evacuees

CARYVILLE, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Officials from the town of Caryville is offering Hurricane Irma evacuees a place to take a break if they're on the roads.

Evacuees can rest for a few hours at the field area west of the Town Hall on 4436 Old Spanish Trail.

They said they don't have bathroom facilities, but there are several electrical hookups.

The rest stop is free to all..

Caryville is about two miles north of Exit 104 on I-10.

"The Town of Caryville is no stranger to natural disasters and understands the confusion and uncertainty that comes with such an event," Town Clerk Suzanne Floyd said. "To those who may need a moment of respite from their travels, we welcome you in Caryville.
