WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG//WECP) - The Florida Department of Health in Walton County has issued a mosquito-borne illness advisory to all residents and visitors.
Several sentinel chicken flocks have tested positive for West Nile Virus, increasing the risk of transmission to humans.
Officials want to remind residents to take basic precautions to help limit exposure to mosquitoes. Limit areas where water may collect, cover skin with clothing and repellent, and cover doors and windows with screens to keep mosquitoes out of your house.
