Teenager dies from injuries in wreck

Three people were sent to the hospital following a multi-vehicle wreck on Highway 98 in front of Gulf Coast State College on September 1, 2016. The wreck tied up traffic for hours in both directions.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG-WECP) - UPDATE: September 3, 6:00 p.m.

One of the people involved in a wreck near the Hathaway Bridge last week has died.

According to Panama City Police, Claudia Greg, 18, died from injuries in the crash.

Investigators say Greg swerved in front of another driver on U.S. Highway 98, which pushed her truck into the path of a tanker truck.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.


One person is listed in critical condition after a traffic wreck in front of Gulf Coast State College in Panama City that snarled traffic for hours.

Panama City Police say it involved three vehicles. It happened about 2:40 p.m. Thursday.

Investigators say a truck driven by Claudia Gref, 18, of Port St. Joe, swerved in front of a truck driven by Rickey Kerr, 58, of Lynn Haven. After the crash, Gref's truck was pushed into the path of a tanker truck driven by William White Jr., 65, of Lynn Haven.

All three drivers were sent to the hospital. Gref's injuries are the most serious according to police. She's listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

The wreck tied up traffic for about three hours around the Hathaway Bridge.
