Mobile, AL (WJHG/WECP) Big news for Rutherford alum Dallas Davis. He's been named the starting quarterback for South Alabama heading into their opener against Mississippi State September 3rd.
Davis is a redshirt sophomore who made it into six games last season, 11-23 for 108 yards and one touchdown.
He was competing with two others for the starting job. In naming Davis his guy, head coach Joey Jones today saying Dallas is simply playing the best of the three qb's, adding consistency is what separated him from the pack.
He says Dallas is practicing at a high level, he's got a good arm, is smart and stays away from mistakes.
