Blountstown set to host Port St. Joe in 1A Region Final

BLOUNTSTOWN, FL (WJHG/WECP) The Blountstown Tigers are looking ahead to their second playoff game of this postseason, though it's a very good bet the second game will be much tougher than the first.

The Tigers host rival Port St. Joe in their 1A Region Final, in a game set for 7:30.

The Sharks are coming off a big win over Cottondale in round one.

The Tiger also coming off a big win in round one beating Jefferson 49-8. An easy win given it came in the playoffs.

"Yeah well it's always good to win like that" Blountstown head coach Greg Jordan told us "and we were able to get some kids in the game that may not normally get to play in playoff games and that's good experience down the road. But this week, these guys know what's at stake when we play St. Joe. It's been this way, either us or them has been in the final four since 2013. So the winner of this has the chance to get to Orlando.

That's where they play the championship game.

Again this a rematch of a game the Sharks and Tigers played in St. Joe back in October, Blountstown won that defensive battle 3-0.

Friday night's game set for 7:30 and we'll have all the highlights in our late news Friday night.
