Local diver sets new Bay County meet record Wednesday

PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL (WJHG/WECP) It was a perfect night for a dive meet Wednesday at the Panama City Beach Aquatic Center, and one of Mosley's divers took advantage of that.

Dalton Nicewonder racked up 250.45 points in the meet that included divers from North Bay Haven, Arnold and one from Rutherford.

Nicewonder breaking the record set by Rutherford's Chris Jackson back in 2012, he put up 239.1 points in a meet that season. And then went on to win the 1 meter State Championship that year. Dalton also broke the old Mosley record set in 2008, by Kurt Furhman, 225.8 points.

Arnold's Cole Maguire was second on the boys side of Wednesday's meet.

For the girls, Mosley had a 1-2 finish with Charlee Walker leading the way with 190 points, followed by Abby Silverster.

The next dive meet is Wednesday, August 13th.
