TALLAHASSEE, Fla. Florida State head football coach Jimbo Fisher is leaving Florida State for Texas A&M.
Reporters at Marchant and ESPN were among the first to report move, which was officially confirmed by Florida State shortly after 2 p.m. eastern Friday afternoon.
Fisher will not close out the season as coach in Saturday's season finale against UL-Monroe. Odell Haggins takes over as interim head coach.
In eight seasons as coach at FSU, Fisher posted an overall record of 83-23, winning the 2013 national championship and earning at least ten wins in six seasons.
