Three locals place at high school state wrestling championships

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Five wrestlers from our area were still alive entering Saturday's final rounds of the 1A state wrestling championships in Kissimmee. Three of them are taking medals back to the Panhandle.

Drew St. Amant earned second place at 152, falling to Andrew Artalona from Tampa Prep in the finals. At 52-5, St. Amant's year and high school career have been remarkable.

Ethan Pickren from South Walton placed third at 126 with an 8-2 decision to cap off the year. He's a junior, so there's more to come from the Seahawk.

Marianna's Cole Maddox capped off his high school career with third place at 195.

Mosley's Cameron Bevens at 106 and South Walton's Harris Barton at 170 were eliminated in wrestle-backs.
