Kids are now back in school and getting back into the school work grind. One place kids often fall behind is with their reading skills.
Parents want their kids to succeed in school, but jumping back in after summer break can be difficult for some kids. Now there are new reading programs on the market that are both educational and fun.
As kids go back to school their reading skills are quickly put to the test. Research shows reading fluency rates tend to drop among students from the spring to the following fall.
Laura McCrady, a parent, says, “If you don't want to spend money on a tutor, experts say try a reading programs that can be used at home; a new one on the market is called one Minute Reader.”
Laura McCrady brought the program home for her daughter Caroline. The idea behind the program is much like that of a video game. Users get a score for every Minute Reading, so like video games, they're motivated to increase their score.
The kits include audio support so a child can work without a teacher or parent's help.
The kits are now available and come in five levels and there are other reading programs on the market as well that tailor to every age group from preschoolers to adults.
