Altha - This week's Golden Apple award winner teaches third grade at Altha Public School. Mollie Branton has been teaching in Altha for two decades. It's a job she says she never wants to leave.

In the eyes of Sydney Helms, Mrs. Branton is one of a kind. "She is so nice and every time someone has a problem she is there and she helps," said Sydney, who nominated Mrs. Branton.

Known for her quiet demeanor and sweet personality, Mrs. Branton means business in the classroom. "I expect them to do well so I encourage them a lot. I try to instill in them that they really can do it, they really can, and I brag on them a lot when they do," said Mrs. Branton. "She has such a sweet personality, but with that personality she also yields high results," said LaDonna Kelley. "She helps us when we have hard problems and we just need to talk to her for advice," said Sydney.

Mrs. Branton says she loves working with third graders. "They are old enough to have an attention span to stay on task and they are young enough that they are still absolutely adorable and sweet," said Mrs. Branton.

Congratulations to Mrs. Branton, this week's Golden Apple award winning teacher. "When I come to school I am tired and I come in the classroom and she is all happy, it just makes me smile," said third grader Alexx Miles.
