The City of DeFuniak Springs May Get Mobile App

During Monday night’s council meeting, the ICITY Corporation based out of Tennessee pitched their company to create an app for the city.

The app would help connect residents and citizens with what is going on in the city.

The app would provide information from events, road closures, accidents--and just anything going on with the city government.

While one council member thought the app would be great for local businesses, others wanted to know how this app would be funded.

"This is a tool for every business in town, that has a business license,” said Council member Mac Carpenter. “You got it in your hand, the phone number, directions to place of business with the touch of a finger."

The Council has asked the city manager to see if there would be enough money to work this app into the budget.
