The search began early Tuesday evening in a wooded area east of Inlet Beach.

Authorities say the man has nine felony warrants out of Georgia and will now have a couple more including grand theft auto. They say he has been a thorn in their side for the past couple of days.

"Two days ago, he tried to run down a deputy, there was a chase, he left the vehicle, he eluded the search, and the vehicle he was using turned out to be stolen out of Alabama. Today we get a tip that he was back in the area, so units responded. He knew that we were coming. He took off. Hid out in the woods, and we never did locate him. This evening I believe there was another high speed chase; he bailed out of that vehicle which came stolen from the state of Alabama."

Authorities have not yet released the man's name. He's on his way to the Walton County jail in DeFuniak Springs for booking.
