Major Shift of Personnel at BCSO

Several top-level promotions are being announced this week at the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Frank McKeithen is filling some management positions with six appointments. The new team includes Captain Ricky Ramie to oversee the Special Operations Division.

Capt. Joel Heate will take over the Support Services Division from Butch Leonard who retired a few months ago.

Capt. Jimmy Stanford will take over as head of the Criminal Investigations Division. Ralph Dyer, who headed the division for several years, is retiring.

Other personnel moves announced by Sheriff Frank McKeithen include Lt. Larry White, who is being moved into the Sheriff’s Office to serve as Capt. Robert Sterling’s administrative Assistant.

Lt. Greg Robarts will be working in Internal Affairs, Legal Actions and Risk Management.

Inspector Jay Ledford will now be the department accreditation manager.
