Delta Airlines says it’s expanding its Panama City service with a daily flight to Orlando starting December 1.
Delta with its Delta Connection partner Chautauqua Airlines will operate a 37 seat regional jet to provide the new service.
Jimmy Patronis, Jr. of the Panama City-Bay County International Airport Authority said the board was giving top priority to increasing service and daily jet service to Orlando was especially important because it opens up all of south Florida for Bay County businesses and residents.
The Airport Authority, The Bay County and Panama City Beach Chambers of Commerce, a number of businesses and the media pulled together to help make the project succeed.
Patronis said, “This is the kind of commitment and leadership that will win better air service for the community.”
Delta will begin accepting reservations for the new service starting September 18. The current plans call for flights to begin December 1 with a mid-afternoon arrival and departure.
An additional morning flight is also under consideration.
