The beautiful weather made it the perfect day for local vendors to kick off the waterfront market at the St. Andrews marina Saturday morning.

Hundreds of shoppers came out to support local farmers and artists in St. Andrews. This is the seventh year the market is in operation. There are more then 40 registered vendors and 25were set-up this weekend.

The event makes for a great weekend event with live music, kayak demonstrations, visiting artists and free arts and crafts for children.

"This is just such a great venue with all the working boats and the shrimp boats for people to get out in the open air and buy hand crafted items and produce and listen to great local music. We expect this event to just continue to grow," said Market Organizer, Ronnie Varnes.

The market takes place every Saturday until November from 8:30 a.m. until noon. Then in December, a special Christmas market will be featured.
