Panama City - Good news for Bay County property owners. Bay County Commission have decided to hold the line on property taxes.
Commissioners voted to keep the millage rate at 3.65. The decision came during this evening budget workshop. That actually means property owners will pay less money, because property values have decreased, but that also means the county will collect about $3.6 million less in revenue.
"I think the property owners and the tax payers have spoken and said they don't wont higher taxes. They'll take less services we'll get by just keep the taxes as low as you can and that's what we did," said George Gainer, Bay County Commissioner.
The final budget hearing will be held at 5:01p.m. September 21st.
