Deputies Raid What They Believe Was an Indoor Pot Operation

Was Lamont Farmer about to do some illegal farming? Bay County sheriff’s deputies believe he was and that’s why they arrested him.

The Sheriff’s Office reports finding all sorts of equipment when they searched the suspect’s motel room. They say all the equipment was used to grow marijuana indoors without soil.

The hydroponics system can grow $100,000 with of marijuana from only 10 plants in one year.

The light required for indoor growing is very intense and the growers sometimes have to wear sunscreen when they are in the same room.

Deputies tell us indoor pot farming has become more popular in recent years since police have improved their capabilities to find outdoor plants.
