They're usually working to sell homes, not clean them up, but more than a dozen local realtors are doing just that. Prudential realtors contacted the United Way to find out what they could do to help in the aftermath of Ivan.
United Way hooked them up with a few families that needed help clearing all the debris from their yards. The realtors spent all day Saturday and Sunday mowing weed-whacking and wheel barrowing their way to a closer bond with their community.
"Teamed up with United Way to help the elderly clean up debris left over from Ivan. I rallied the team and here we are," says Terez Nemeth, a Prudential realtor.
United Way volunteers are available for anyone who needs assistance in Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson and Washington Counties. If you need help call the local Chapter of United way at (850) 785-7521.
