A single vehicle accident in Gulf County has cliamed the life of a 72 year old Wewahitchka man, James Franklin Faircloth.

The accident happed around 2 AM Sunday morning on Gulf County Road 381 a quarter of a mile west of Lister Landing road at Wewahitchka.

The Florida Highway Patrol says Faircloth was headed westbound on County Road 381, left the roadway and tried to get back onto the pavement, but he overcorrected, overturned and struck several trees, coming to rest on its roof.

Faircloth's pick up was listed as a total loss.
