Police say they have arrested a woman wanted for illegally fleeing with her two small children from the Blountstown area.
Two weeks ago, 24-year-old Angela Howard was ordered by a judge to turn her children, aged two and six, over to the Florida Department of Children and Families. Instead, she fled with the youngsters and was the subject of an area wide Amber Alert.
Calhoun County sheriff’s deputies caught up with Ms. Howard late Wednesday night at a convenience store in Altha.
Sheriff David Tatum says the children were with her at the time. They are now in the custody of DCF.
