Area Fugitive Who Gave Lawmen Headaches Is Arrested in South Florida

The home-invasion robbery suspect who gave Bay County authorities the slip last month is finally behind bars.

Thirty-seven-year-old Wallace Greg Brimer is accused of a home invasion burglary and robbery in Hiland Park on September 3. He was wanted on several felony theft charges in his home state of Georgia at the time.

Brimer led authorities on a high-speed chase that ended when deputies blew out his car tires with spike strips on State Road 388 East just of State Road 77.

Brimer ran into some nearby woods and swamps, which set off a massive search for several days, but he was able to slip away and left the area.

Wednesday, police in West Palm Beach spotted him at a motel. After a brief struggle they managed to arrest him.

He was armed with four guns and was still driving a stolen vehicle from here in Bay County. He'll be returned to Bay County within a month to face more than a dozen charges.
