Woman Critical After Fall

A fall from a restaurant roof that seriously injured a 20-year-old woman early Friday morning in Destin appears to have been accidental.

Amanda Lindsey Toombs, age 20, of 411 Twin Lakes Lane, Destin, was airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola where she is listed in critical condition.

Ms. Toombs and a friend had entered a closed upstairs section of the building and climbed onto a section of roof at Fudpucker's Beachside Bar & Grill, 20001 Emerald Coast Parkway.

She fell approximately 15 feet onto dirt, the fall partially broken by the edge of the roof on an adjacent building. Her companion re-entered the building and called for help.

Okaloosa County Sheriff's Deputies say alcohol is believed to have been a contributing factor in the incident, which was reported at 2:15 Friday morning.
