Hurricane Ivan is indirectly to blame for a fire that started late Friday evening at a Panama City Beach condominium.
The call came in about 8:15 p.m. that the Moonspinner on Thomas Drive was on fire. Apparently the fire broke out on the roof of the ninth floor penthouse, and quick action by fire firefighters kept it from spreading.
A manager at the complex says they had some hurricane damage on the roof from Ivan. A worker had been on the roof using a blow torch earlier that day. The manager believes that may have had something to do with Friday night's fire.
No one was injured in the blaze.
