A man accused of holding his estranged wife at gunpoint has been arrested after a three-hour standoff in Crestview Tuesday.
Charged with aggravated assault, felony battery and false imprisonment is Jason O'Dell Sugarman, age 31, of Pensacola.
Sugarman voluntarily surrendered to Okaloosa County sheriff's deputies at 2801 Pinnacle Point Drive, Crestview, which is the home of his estranged wife.
Lawmen were notified of the incident a few minutes before 8:00 a.m. this Tuesday morning when Lisa Sugarman reported she had just escaped from her gun-wielding husband. She later told Deputies he had come to her house at 4:30 a.m., threatened her and held her at gunpoint for about three hours.
He eventually went with her to drop off their three-year-old son at day care, and their one year old son at a relative's house.
She called help as her husband waited in the driveway. He left the area, returning to her home where he voluntarily surrendered himself approximately three hours later.
Nobody was physically injured in the incident.
