Convicted kidnapper Ernie Paul Dugas is facing more prison time, this time in the federal penitentiary.
Wednesday, Federal Judge Casey Rogers handed Dugas 319 months in federal prison for the kidnapping of Amber Davis.
Two years ago, the teenager was snatched from her Panama City Beach home by Dugas, who then went on a three-state crime spree with the girl. She was the object of the first Amber Alert in northwest Florida after the system had just been established.
The kidnapped girl was later released in Texas.
Dugas already faced three life terms in Louisiana for armed robberies before entering guilty pleas in Panama City Federal Court in July.
