Holmes County sheriff's investigators say one of their burglary suspects is also a murder suspect in Alabama.
Seth Davis is suspected of breaking in to the Mount Zion Church in Holmes County. He's also wanted for burglaries around Dothan in Houston and Geneva Counties in Alabama.
Authorities found Davis in a Dothan motel. During their investigation, they say they recovered several thousand dollars worth of stolen property, but they also say they turned up DNA evidence that links Davis to a fatal shooting.
Chris Wells is an investigator with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office.
“We had a lot of situations where the crimes are committed down here and the property ends up in Alabama. Criminals don't take jurisdictions into mind when they go to committing offenses.”
Davis is currently being held in the Houston County, Alabama jail on a $250,000 bond.
Anyone with information about the Davis case or who might be still missing property which had been stolen can call the Holmes County Sheriff's Office at 547-3681.
