A complaint filed against newly-elected State Attorney Steve Meadows is tossed out by the Florida Ethics Commission.
Being rejected is the claim made by Steven Anderson, an investigator with the state attorney’s office in Marianna.
Anderson claimed Meadows contacted him last year, outlining the rewards for public employees who supported him and the likely penalties for those who would not. Anderson failed to follow up on that complaint. The ethics panel says it asked for more information and Anderson didn’t provide it.
The state panel also noted the alleged conversation took place a year before Meadows became a candidate.
