The Sebastian County (AR) Sheriff's Office says it was a meteor and likely hit near Poteau Mountain, Oklahoma.

A Little Rock, AR television station contacted an amateur astronomer, who says it was likely a meteor and since some people saw it burn a bit greenish -- it probably contained copper. He also says it was probably no bigger than a pebble.

A neighboring television station in Ft. Smith, AR says the meteor was also sighted in Greenwood, AR, Jonesboro, AR, Jackson, MS, Biloxi, MS, and the Florida Panhandle.

I have had two viewers this morning email me about the "Flash of Light" sighting! One from Jackson County, FL (Marianna) and the other from Mobile County, AL (Mobile)

As of this morning, on the American Meteor Society's tracking site, no official reports of the meteor have been recorded yet!
