Someone is calling Bay County voters, claiming to work for Mark Andersen at the county’s Supervisor of Elections Office.
The caller tells people that Andersen, or a member of his staff, will come by your home and pick up your absentee ballot and take it to the Elections Office and turn it in for you.
The problem is it’s not Andersen or anyone in his office making the calls. The Supervisor of Elections Office does not offer any type of pickup service.
He says the whole thing has made him furious and Andersen is vowing to find the person and have them prosecuted.
“My blood is boiling right now concerning this fraud and other issues. People are trying to destroy the process that we’re doing and we are not going to let them do it.”
It’s up to the individual voter to get the absentee ballot back to the elections office by 7 p.m. Tuesday night. Mail it, Fed Ex it or bring it in person, but Andersen stresses there is no pickup service offered by his office.
