The airport could become a little more high-tech in the near future.
The Airport Authority voted Monday to look into plans to add wireless Internet service for waiting passengers inside the Bay County Airport.
The board members agreed they would like this service to be provided free of charge. Term limits could also increase for future board members.
In a proposal to change the legislation that establishes the authority, the board increased term limits for two terms of four years each.
Randy Curtis, the executive director of the Bay County Airport, says any changes to legislation have to be approved by the state.
"Most of the current language actually dates back to 1967 and things have changed over the years, so the intent really is to update it and bring it forward."
Starting next year, the Airport Authority will always meet the second Tuesday each month at 11:30 in the morning instead of 4:15 in the afternoon.
