A 46-year-old Port. St. Joe man, Michael R. Speights of 261 Avenue "A", died Saturday after being stabbed in an argument in Mexico Beach.
The stabbing came following an argument between Speights and another man identified as David Barnes, also of Port St. Joe.
Bay County sheriff's investigators say the two were playing cards at a home at 103 North 15th Street in Mexico Beach when they began fighting. It apparently came to an end outside in a parking lot when Speights suffered fatal stab wounds in the abdomen.
Barnes left the area after the incident but was taken into custody several hours later. He was being held in the Gulf County Jail in Port St. Joe to face possible murder charges.
