The Walton County Health Department in DeFuniak Springs has reached its capacity for flu shots with the vaccine on hand.
Appointments were taken for high risk people and all of the available flu vaccines have been scheduled to be given.
There is a possibility Walton County will receive additional adult vaccines in the upcoming weeks. To check on the progress of the shots, you can log onto the Walton County Health Department website at www.co.walton.fl.us or by calling the flu message line at 850-892-8015.
In Holmes County, there are not any vaccines doses right now, but the Health Department in Bonifay is expecting a shipment sometime within the next week or so.
Meanwhile in Bay County, the Health Department is still taking appointments over the phone for vaccinations. They ask that you do not show up in person to make an appointment.
Although the phone lines at the Bay County Health Department are busy, you're asked to keep trying by calling 872-4455. They emphasize that appointments must be made by phone and will not be accepted in person.
