Walton Cleanup

The county's Tourist Development Council says contractors have finished picking up 26 miles of beach debris.

Over the last four weeks, contractors made three passes as part of the initial hurricane recovery effort. Beach warning flags have flown red during the cleanup, but will now again represent conditions of the surf.

Since beach cleanup is over, TDC officials are asking private residents to place their storm debris on the roadside right of way for it to be removed.
