The Coast Guard suspended a search for two boaters who may have gone missing in West Bay Sunday morning.

Officials with the Coast Guard say they heard a mayday call about 7:10 a.m. on Sunday morning. The person said there were two people onboard a 14-foot John boat just three miles south of the airport.

The mayday says they were taking on water and needed help. The Coast Guard searched for hours and told Newschannel Seven they even spoke to a witness who says he saw a man and a teenage male in a similar boat earlier in the morning.

The search was suspended at 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon, but if you have any information regarding this mayday, call the Coast Guard Search and Rescue at 234-2475.
