A plan is underway to create an adult entertainment or "red light" district in Panama City. Although the proposal is still up in the air, possible areas are already being discussed.

City manager Ken Hammons says one of the areas they could consider is the industrial park on Frankford Avenue near the airport. The district will require the businesses be 500 feet from churches, schools, day care centers or residential neighborhoods.

It also has to remain 2,500 feet from an educational institution. Panama City Mayor Gerry Clemons says no decisions have been made and they still plan to map out other possible district sites before any vote.

This is just one of three new laws regulating adult entertainment by the Panama City commissioners.
