People now 50 years of age and older can receive the vaccine.
Also, anyone who lives with someone with chronic health problems like heart or lung disease, asthma, diabetes or cancer, pregnant women nursing home residents and health care workers are eligible.
Health officials say it's still important to get vaccinated.
Debora Campbell of the Walton County Health Department says, “Definitely something you should look into. Flu season doesn't usually gear up in Florida until February and you still have plenty of time to get a good vaccine and be protected from the flu this year, so it’s not too late.”
If you would like to schedule an appointment to get a flu shot, call your local Health Department.
