The rescue mission held an open house Sunday to help people get ready for the holiday season.
Members of Free Spirit Church presented two families with supplies to make a Thanksgiving meal. One of the employees at the rescue mission paired the families with the church so they could enjoy the holiday.
Others toured the building, asking questions about the people who stay at the rescue mission and how services are distributed.
The mission has expanded its Thanksgiving dinner this year to four locations. Besides the mission downtown, you can get a warm meal on Thanksgiving at the Boys and Girls Club on Third Street, The Rock on Harrison Avenue and Faith Christian Family Church on Back Beach Road.
The rescue mission will also provide meals to people at home if you cannot attend a dinner, just call by Monday, November 22 at 769-0783.
