Okaloosa on Ice is giving kids and adults the chance to experience ice skating outdoors. The rink is set up just off Brooks Street near the Fort Walton Landing.
Rink workers use Freon and other chemicals to keep the almost three inches of ice cool at just about 12 degrees.
A trip around the ice will cost you six bucks plus another two if you need to rent skates, and so far the lack of ice here in Sunshine State hasn't kept most kids from enjoying themselves.
You can take to the ice Monday through Thursday 4 to 10 p.m., 4 to 11 p.m. on Fridays, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays, and 1 to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
