The Florida Supreme Court has some bad news for a Panama City Beach killer.
The court has upheld the first-degree murder conviction and death sentence for Paul Glen Everett. He's the Alabama man who broke into Kelli Bailey’s home, robbed her, raped her and beat her to death in November of 2001.
Attorneys for the 27-year-old killer had offered several reasons to have his conviction and sentence vacated.
They claimed the trial court wrongly admitted DNA evidence, Everett’s confession and made other mistakes.
Everett had skipped bail on an Alabama arrest and fled to Panama City Beach where he murdered the 31-year-old victim.
