After two years of delays, parents will finally have the option to send their children to a new charter school at Panama City Beach.
The Bay County School Board approved the application of Tapestry Park for a new Charter School two years ago, but confusion over another proposed school at the beach caused a few bumps in the road.
It’s hoped the Tapestry Park facility at Middle Beach Road and Clara Ave will be open sometime next school year.
Only 126 students will be admitted in grades Kindergarten through the fifth. That equates to 18 students per classroom.
There will be a 30-day open enrollment for Tapestry Park Charter School beginning March 1. If there are more applications than the 126 spots available, then a lottery will be held to determine which of the students can attend the new school.
